We wrapped up our annual holiday shoot at Maxwell Dog in Studio City and one of our favorites -- okay, we have no favorites, they were all so cute -- was Winston, the Frenchie. Winston is hard of hearing. Deaf, really. So the way we get a dog's attention is with sound and in this case sound wasn't going to work. We had to resort to Plan B, which is why you should always have a Plan B. Plan Peanut Butter. Yep, we whipped out the peanut butter for dogs (you didn't know there was such a thing?) and we managed to get Winston's attention that way. Needless to say, we had a lot of Winston licking his chops. So that's when I decided to make this collage of his tongue poses. His mom Shelly loved it ...

Exciting news! We will be a vendor at "Diamond in the Ruff," the launch "pawty" of the Hotel Figueroa in downtown Los Angeles as a pet-friendly hotel! It's this Saturday, May 16, from 12 to 4 p.m. and it's free! We will be decorating part of the outside area for photos of dogs. It's gonna be fun! Food, music and mutts!Remember, the Hotel Fig by the Staples Center is a Moroccan style hotel that is GORGEOUS! They are converting it to Spanish Colonial this fall and that will make it even better. And the good news is... the little family with mom Lexi and her four puppies rescued by Hope for Paws and fostered by the Little Red Dog have all found homes!You might remember Eldad Hagar of Hope for Paws rescued this family last fall. Lexi had five puppies, though one didn't make it before their rescue. The Little Red Dog had a volunteer foster family in Newport Beach where the little family found refuge.The family was featured on Fox's "Cause for Paws" special where they were introduced by actor Channing Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum.I photograhed them twice, once in Newport Beach and once at a studio in Santa Monica.Lexi was the best mom... she always had a worried look on her ...

We had a great time yesterday at Top Dog Barkery in Newport Beach with a whole lot of dogs coming in their holiday finest for their photo shoot.We had Bandit, Gracie, Ellie, Fritz, Piper, Gabby, Monster and the two blind and deaf dogs, Olive and Muffin. I single out Olive and Muffin because they sure played a mean pinball. I jest. Extra points if you get the reference!The pet parents of our intrepid subjects receive a metal ornament and 5x7 digital file to make their own Christmas cards.
