This summer, I had two Ice Cream Socials for Dogs (both with Barbie pink backgrounds except for a couple of Kens on blue), one of them for a unique group... striking actors and writers whose dogs were treated to a cone of doggy ice cream and a photo shoot. Hey, SAG and WGA! Woot-woot!These and the hundreds of dogs I've photographed over the years are... wait for it... The Cone Rangers.An ice cream cone can be one of your dog's greatest pleasures. We are doing an Ice Cream Social for Dogs from 1 to 4 p.m. on July 21 at Kriser's Natural Pet in Studio City! And guess what? The $39 session goes directly to benefit Lisa Arturo's Big Love Animal Rescue! Lisa does street rescues and is a voice for animals that have no voice.Lisa has jumped in sewers and rivers, crawled under houses and climbed through junkyards. She has slept in her car, stayed up all night, and has driven countless hours to find a stray dog lost in the night, hungry and afraid, and she would do it all over again to save a life. My publisher, Familius, just sent out its Fall 2019 catalog and our "Dogs Vs Ice Cream" book is in it! It's real and coming to a bookstore or pet store near you soon! It's very exciting! Very colorful! Okay, I'll calm down now. You know, I have really loved this project. I've written before that it was seven ice cream socials for dogs in August and September in which we photographed 192 dogs and cones filled with Purina's Frosty Paws doggy ice cream. I used Frosty Paws original because I wanted all the ice cream to be uniform in color -- like vanilla. I've used others that have pretty colors but I just wanted them all to be one color and Frosty Paws is very easy to find. And we just used ...
